Hey Everyone,
Many times, we pray one thing, and God works through those prayers and often brings about an unexpected result! As Romans 8 says: “We don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us…and the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.” (26-27 NLT)
Well, we asked for prayer that God would work in the hearts of the mortgage company and approve a short sale. But, as a result of those prayers, God worked in my heart and changed it. Though your prayers God has provided divine appointments with many wise counselors. As a result, it now seems that it would be better for us to rent out our house rather than to sell it. This would allow us to fulfill our obligation to our lender, keep our good credit rating, and also possibly one other unexpected result:
The housing market in New York is so favorable towards buyers that it may for the first time actually be possible for us to buy rather than to rent on Long Island! I never before even thought this to be possible, but the same market that works against us in Arizona works for us in New York. So, now we have some new prayer requests for you:
1. Please pray that God would provide great renters for our house, and that we can get enough rent to pay our house payment.
2. Please pray for wisdom regarding renting verses buying in New York. And, if it would be his will, that God would provide for the significant down payment needed to purchase a home in New York.
Thanks so much for your prayers, God seems to be working significantly through them already!
